First Annual Pueblo Barrio Poetry Slam

October 28th, 2013  |  Published in Blog

A letter of invitation from poet Juliana Aragón Fatula:

Dear friends and students,

You are invited to attend the First Annual Pueblo Barrio Poetry Slam at Rawlings Library on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 2pm to 5pm.
The slam is open to teens only but we need judges and audience members in order for this slam to work.
Each slam poet will have under 3 minutes to perform on stage, no music, props, or costumes.
The judges score 0-10 based on audience response to poem.
Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Bring your poems and come have fun!

Thank you for participating in this event. We can’t do it without your attendance.

Also, on November 9th I will be having a poetry writing workshop for teens at Rawlings Library from 2pm - 5pm.
Bring your paper and pencil and creativity and let’s create some great slam poems!
I’m challenging all of my students past and present to perform their slam poem on stage and compete for prizes. You are all so talented and creative and I look forward to seeing you there.
Please pass this message on to your friends and family.

Gracias,

Juliana Aragón Fatula
