Women Write The Rockies and Beyond Presents “A Celebration of International Women’s Day”

March 9th, 2016  |  Published in Blog, Press

Women Write the Rockies and Arapahoe Community College’s Writers Studio will celebrate International Women’s Day with a poetry and fiction reading focusing on cultural identity and social awareness on Thursday (March 10) at the college’s main campus in Littleton.

The event is being organized by Conundrum author Kathryn Winograd, Ph.D., and will also feature Conundrum author, Teow Lim Goh, whose book of poetry Islanders will be released this year.

Readings and discussion will begin shortly before 6:30 p.m., following a “Meet the Writers” hors d’oeuvres reception and silent auction fundraiser.

Writers Elisabeth Hyde, Sheryl Luna, Rita Brady Kiefer, Marilyn Krysl, and Teow Lim Goh will “share their stories and poems on the ‘writing walls’ of Chinese immigrants detained at Angel Island, warscapes and their healers and caregivers, tenderness and poverty at the borderlines, spirituality and the survivors of domestic violence, and the ‘rocky canyons’ of the heart,” according to an event announcement.

There is a suggested donation to attend. For more information, visit the college’s website.
