A Reading by David J. Rothman from Living the Life: Tales from America’s Mountains & Ski Towns
Friday 21, 7:30 pm
Venue: Fashion Café, 108 W Tomichi St, Suite D. Upstairs, above Junebugs. Gunnison, CO
On Friday, Feb. 21, at 7:30pm, DJR will read from his new book, Living the Life: Tales from America’s Mountains & Ski Towns, much of which is set in the Gunnison Valley.  David will read and also answer questions about his new books and about Western’s MFA.
David lived in Crested Butte for many years, and while he now spends much of the year in Boulder, he still also serves as Director of the Poetry Concentration in the low-residency MFA in Creative Writing at WSCU and spends summers in the valley. While living in Crested Butte he taught at WSCU and co-founded the Crested Butte Music Festival, serving as its first Executive Director. He also founded Conundrum Press (now owned by the Samizdat Group of Denver), and served as the founding Dean of Academics and then third Headmaster of Crested Butte Academy. He has published many volumes of poetry and prose, including two books of poems in 2013, Part of the Darkness (Entasis Press) and The Book of Catapults (White Violet Press).
